Website experiment · not gameplay
A website experiment, not a look at the game.
The boat, the line and the bait exist only on this page. Nothing here shows how Reel Risk plays, what lives in its water or what its sharks do.
How to fish it
- Mouse
- Move to trail the lure. Fish scatter from it. Click to drop bait.
- Touch
- Tap to drop bait there. Drag sideways to trail the lure. Vertical swipes still scroll.
- Keyboard
- Tab to the water. Arrow keys move the lure, Space or Enter drops bait, P pauses.
Credits
The sharks, the fish schools and the ASCII renderer are ascii-sharks by drewdi, used under the MIT licence.
Changed for this page: the renderer's colours, cell size, shark and wake brightness, and monospace font. Its letters now stay in place while brightness eases through them, and fish are drawn as small dashes between cells. The full list of changes.
The simulation code is unchanged. This page adds the boat, the line, the bait, its own page loop based on the original's, and a nudge that turns a lone shark back toward the boat.
